Hand Painting on Fabric

In this workshop we'll look at hand painting pattern on textile: Cotton & Linen.

We’ll learn how paints and inks behave on fabric and work together. Participants begin with mark-making and practicing on paper before working towards more complex designs on fabric.

Bring a reference of your favorite colors and cloth.

We're using  heat-fixed fabric paints that remain color and light-fast when ironed. All supplies included.

Each session is limited to 4 participants.

Time: 4.5 hours. Please bring a lunch and bottled water.

Print Making

Learn the basics of rubber block carving and relief printmaking.  

I'll guide you through the essentials of relief printmaking and you'll print your own works on paper and fabric after carving your own blocks.  

This workshop includes a brief introduction to printmaking, an introduction the essential tools and materials and the preparation required for carving a block.

You're welcome to bring your own imagery or drawings to use during the workshop.  Images should be simple.  

Time: 4.5 hours. Please bring a lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks and refreshments are provided. All supplies included.

Beginning Weaving

Learn how to make (and warp) your own a simple cardboard lap loom to use at home.  Next learn two weaving techniques and use the remainder of the time to weave your heart away. Bring two balls of yarn.

Weaving & Tea on Tuesday-Use your own lap loom

Bring a snack, have some tea (or coffee) and cookies and weave away.  During the first hour of class participants learn two weaving techniques, use the remainder of the time away exploring their own creativity.  2.5 hours.  Bring your own lap loom. Bring your own yarn.  If you’re signing up for more than session please select the appropriate quantity during checkout. During each week of a particular month my Weave & Tea Classes feature two different weaving techniques.

Freestyle Weaving

Weave from the heart in this beginners hands-on workshop! 

You'll learn the basics-warping a loom and some stitches to get you started weaving. Beyond that this workshop is meant to put you at ease and introduce you to the beautiful world of weaving and making tapestry. 

There is no pressure.  There are no rules.  There are no mistakes.  There is no competition.

It's you and what your imagination inspires.  Design ideas come from your heart and through personal inspiration.  

All supplies are provided, including the use of a lap loom while in-studio.
